

Donald L. Skowronski, 83, of Oro Valley, AZ, formerly of Springfield, IL, passed away on April 12, 2018 surrounded by his wife of 58 years, Beverly, and his beloved children. Donald was born on July 6,1934 in LaSalle, IL, to Steve and Mary Skowronski. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather (PaPa) and great-grandfather. His grandchildren were the light of his life and PaPa was always goofing around with them. Donald served in the Air Force and then graduated top of his class with a 4.0 from DeVry in Chicago. He worked for IBM for more than 40 years and loved his job that allowed him to travel to many countries. Donald never met a stranger and talked to everyone he met. We could always count on Dad for anything we needed. He was an avid University of Arizona basketball fan and never missed watching a game. He will be forever missed by his family and friends. Donald is survived by his wife, Beverly; his children, Jill Skowronski of Topeka, KS, Don (Donna) Skowronski of Springfield, IL, Mari (Matt) Stadler of Topeka, KS, Caroline (Brian) Mathiot of Springfield, IL, and LeaAnne (Mark) Liberty of Oro Valley, AZ; his grandchildren, Brooke (Kendall), Adam, Josh, Emma, Jordan, Maggie, Mason, Joseph and Camaryn; great-grandson, Liam; and brother, Steve (Thomasina) Skowronski of Detroit, MI. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. The visitation will begin with a prayer service. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Stevenson Drive, Springfield. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Granville, IL.
