Donna Lee Griffith

Donna Lee Griffith, 86, of Petersburg, passed away at 12:08 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home. Donna was born March 26, 1929 in Springfield, the daughter of Stanley and Frances (Pikel) Gorsek. She married John W. Griffith; he preceded her in death. Donna was a graduate of Lanphier High School. She was previously employed by Sangamo Electric and Griffith Truck and Excavating as a co-owner. Most recently, she was a Real Estate Agent in St. Louis, MO. Donna was a member of Phi Tau Omega Sorority and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed polka dancing, quilting, cats, and playing bunco. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son, Dr. Craig A. (wife, Maggie Osborne) Griffith, J.D. of Alexandria, VA; one daughter, Dana (husband, Ross) Cantrall of Springfield; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, John (wife, Mary Lou) Gorsek; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Maggie Osborne officiating.
