Doris I. Clark

She was born in Taylorville on August 31, 1941, the daughter of Woodrow Wilson and Carrie (Copple) Brown. Doris married Robert K. Clark, Sr. in Springfield.

Doris attended Lanphier High School. She worked at the Willard Ice Building for the State of Illinois for 20 years. Doris enjoyed tending to her flower garden, going on camping trips, fishing, bowling, sewing, and crocheting. She cherished moments spent with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; siblings, Albert Brown, Robert Brown, and Virginia Smith; and daughter-in-law, Jana Clark.

Doris is survived by her companion, Raymond Bee; sons, Robert Clark, Jr. and Edward (Kara) Clark; daughter, Shawn (Dale) Ackley; grandchildren, Robert (Alicia) Clark III, Amanda Ackley, Wayne Ausmus, Harry Dale Ackley III, Courtney (Nick) Richards; siblings, Ruby Beaver and Kay Clark; five great-grandchildren, Rylee Clark, Madison Clark, Maddy Hall, Bentley Richards, and Benjamin Richards; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, until the time of the Ceremony at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Darrin Thurman officiating.

Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
