Dorothy J. Belford, 80, of Springfield, died at 4:05 a.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at St. John's Hospital. Dorothy was born on April 9, 1927 in Monmouth, IL; the daughter of William Lloyd and Margaret Elizabeth Robinson Babbitt. She married Sidney E. Belford in 1961 and he preceded her in death in 2007. She was also preceded in death by two children: Dee Dee Farris and David Snoke; a sister: Elizabeth Dodge; and her parents. Surviving are her six children: Ron (Carol) Belford, Cherri (Bernie) Mennemeyer, Janet (Jeff) Lopian, Larry (Debbie) Belford, Don (Jann) Belford and Janeen (Ben) Canini; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-nine great grandchildren; two sisters: Thelma Strunk of Tremont and Lois ("Bus") Dietrich; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Graveside Ceremonies will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Jon Morrissette, officiant.
