Dorothy "Betty" Wahl

Dorothy Betty Wahl, 90, of Springfield, formerly of Arizona, passed away Tuesday December 1, 2015 at St. John�s Hospital. Betty was a resident of Pleasant Hill Healthcare in Girard. She was born May 3, 1925, to John Jacob and Harriet Wulff Yeager. She married Bert Wahl on June 15, 1948 and he preceded her in death July 24, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Fasula; brother, Donald Yeager; and grandson, Eric. Betty served in the US Navy during WWII. Enjoyed traveling in a fifth wheel trailer and traveled out west, fishing, camping and seeing the sites for 25 years with her husband. She could grow anything and had a natural �green thumb�. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Tomi (Greg) Frithsen of Springfield; sons, Donald Wahl of Springfield and Bert Wahl Jr. of Phoenix, AZ; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Cremation rites will be accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham. Mr. and Mrs. Wahl will be interred at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Betty and Bert will be laid to rest at Camp Butler on their wedding anniversary, June 15, 2016 at 10am. Honors will be accorded.
