

Dorothy Marie Burnett, 82, of Curran, formerly of Mesa, AZ, passed away at 9:03 a.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center. Dorothy was born July 19, 1929 in Avon, IL, the daughter of David Blanchard and Clyta Jennings Main. She married Fred Burnett on January 8, 1949; he preceded her in death. Dorothy was a graduate of Feitshans High School and worked for C & IM Railroad and retired in 1979 from Springfield College in Illinois, now known as Benedictine University. She was a past member of the Elks Ladies Lodge #158. She bowled for 15 years and was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan. Dorothy enjoyed family fishing trips and going on cruises and rv'ing. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Doris Day, and four brothers, David Jr., Dwight, Duane and Donovan Main. She is survived by her children, Sally Campbell-Hutcheson of Curran and Steven (wife, Maitely) Burnett of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Roy J. Campbell, Jr. of Riverton, Bridget R. Norris of Springfield, Angela Sebree of Springfield, Noah Hutcheson of Curran, Tatiana Cannizzaro of Orlando, FL, and Steven Rey Burnett of Orlando, FL; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
