Dorothy J. Downey Brown

Dorothy J. Downey Brown, 75, of Springfield, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at St. John’s Hospital. Dorothy was born June 14, 1927 the daughter of Raymond J. and Dorothy M. Cassell Downey in Springfield. Dorothy was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Grade School and Ursuline Academy and attended Miami Dade College. She retired in 1993 after 20 years of service with the Dade County School Board in Florida. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jerry Downey. She is survived by four sons: Thomas “Tom” (wife, Sandy) Brown, Terry J. (wife, Shirley) Brown, Trent J. Brown, Timothy J. (wife, Kimberly) Brown all of Miami, FL; six grandchildren: Matthew, Jason, Tyler, Taylor, Joshua and Krista Brown; four sisters: Marilyn Reid of Belmead, NJ, Barbara (husband, Jerry) Wright of Hartville, OH, Carole Downey of Springfield, Sharon (husband, Larry) Squires of Springfield; three brothers; Raymond “Jack” (wife, Carrie) Downey of Rochester, George (wife, Kay) Downey of Springfield, Dick “ Pat” Downey of Springfield and several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 5-8:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2002. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2002 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
