

Marilyn was born on August 2, 1932 at Mattoon Hospital in Coles County, IL, the daughter of F.W. (Bo) Wood and Phyllis E. Harshman Wood. Marilyn graduated from Sullivan High School in 1950. She attended the National College of Education for 1 ½ years. Marilyn married James T. Logan on March 2, 1952 at the Sullivan United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her brother, Gordon R. Wood of Sullivan; three children, Linda K. Griesemer (David), Larry A. Logan (Janice), and Steven J. Logan (Denise); seven grandchildren, Jaime, Joshua, Jared and Jordan Griesemer, Cristie (Logan) Bruening DO, Christopher and Timothy Logan; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 2018; and her two sisters, Elaine Hansen of Brandon, MS and Beverly Wood (Sewell) of Mesquite, NV.
Marilyn was employed as a librarian at Lowe School in Sullivan for 5 years. After moving to Chatham in 1971, she was employed as a Library Aide at Ball Elementary-Chatham, retiring in 1998. Marilyn was a board member of the Friends of the Library and Chatham Food Pantry. She was also a member of Chatham Young Women Club and Chatham United Methodist Women. Marilyn sang in the choir of the Chatham Methodist Church for many years.
Private family burial will be held at Greenhill Cemetery in Sullivan, IL. Those who wish to view the private funeral ceremony livestream, may do so by visiting here at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021.
