Dorothy L. McQuinn, 88, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday March 13, 2013 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.
She was born in Athens, IL, February 13, 1925 the daughter of John and Marie (Garmers) Rath. She was a graduate of Athens High School, Class of 1943. She earned the Girls Athletic Award. She married Marshall F. McQuinn, November 25, 1943 and he preceded her in death August 28, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and a sister.
Mrs. McQuinn was the co-owner with her husband of McQuinn Auto Service in Springfield. She worked for many years alongside her husband and family. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church LCMS, the Christian Women Business Club and several bowling leagues. Dorothy enjoyed camping with her husband Marshall, and her family and was a member of the Good Sam’s Camping Club. She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed ceramics, and was an outstanding cook. Dorothy loved her family and was a race fan, accompanying her husband to several races.
Surviving are children; Karen (husband Kelly) Grant of Springfield, John (wife Denise) McQuinn of Lincoln, David and Dennis (wife Linda) McQuinn both of Springfield, 5 grandchildren; Jenni (husband Moose) Nika, Jay (wife Tracy) McQuinn, Lisa Rinnus (fiancée Chris McCarthy, Jill (husband Aaron) Andrews, Devin McQuinn, Cory Rawlings, and Whitney McQuinn, 7 great grandchildren; Tony, Megan and Kate Nika, Robby and Abby McQuinn, and Nolan and Isaac Andrews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd where visitation will be on Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 4-7 pm. Funeral services will be held at Monday March 18, 2013 at 10:30 am at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Thomas G. Radtke officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
