Dorothy D. Pacha

Dorothy “Dottie” was born August 25, 1921 in Springfield, the daughter of Alva and Mary Ida Robeson Longest.

She married Robert L. Mills on Dec. 14, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1970. She married Brigadier General Harold F. Pacha, Ret. on February 10, 1977 at St. Viators Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NV.

Dorothy “Dottie” was a graduate of Feitshans High School. She retired in 1977 from Sangamo Electric after twenty-five years of service.

She was a member of Church of the Little Flower, VFW Auxiliary, Ladies Auxiliary of Knights of Columbus #4179 and Ladies Auxiliary Bishop Griffin Assembly.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter: Bobbi Jo Watkins, parents and two sisters: Sylvia Lyons and Mary Underwood and two brothers: Carl Knight & Alvin Longest.

She is survived by her husband, Brigadier General Harold F. Pacha, Ret., two sons: Kenneth L. (wife, Cindy) Mills, Alvin E. (wife, Patty) Mills both of Buffalo, two step sons: James Pacha of LaFayette, CO and Thomas Pacha of Springfield, one step daughter: Marina Powell of Springfield, eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, two sisters: Ruby Bartels, Hazel Cole of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Concelebrated Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004 at Church of the Little Flower with Father Chuck Edwards, Principal Celebrant. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
