

Dorothy Lee Page, 82, of Springfield, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center with her family by her side. Dorothy was born on March 19, 1931 in a log cabin in Olean, Missouri. Her mother, the late Cora E. Dillman Kimler Foxx, was formerly of Decatur, IL. She graduated from Eldorado Grade School in Decatur, Mt. Zion High School in 1949 and Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Springfield, in 1952. She married James Robert �Bob� Page in 1952 and he proceeded her in death in 2002 after 50 years of marriage. Dorothy worked at the old and the new St. Mary�s Hospital, Decatur, at Memorial Hospital, Springfield, and the Department of Mental Health at Andrew McFarland Mental Health Center, retiring after 20 years. She belonged to the Decatur Obedience Training Club and was responsible for starting the club�s newsletter. She moved to Chatham in 1963. Dorothy and Bob traveled extensively on the dog show circuit with their Siberian Huskies. They were members of the Siberian Husky Club of America since 1968 and maintained a small hobby kennel registered by the American Kennel Club as Chotovotka. They had the honor of breeder, owner, handler of the first Siberian Husky female in the history of the breed to go �Best in Show� at the all breed show. They also won their breed at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club. Over the years they finished several AKC champions before retiring from the circuit. Her husband went on to become a licensed AKC judge. Besides her love for the animals, Dorothy had a passion for garage sales and reading. Mrs. Page will be greatly missed by her son, Jim (Angela) Page, St. Joseph, IL; daughters, Coralee (Jeffrey) Regan, Chatham, and Rebecca Page, Denver, CO; grandchildren, Erin Regan, Kevin Regan, Jill Page, Aric Pelafas, Will Page; sister, Jessie White, Taylorville; nieces and nephews, Ron White, Kristine Bucher, Eric White; adopted daughter, Gretchen Bostick-Jennings, Anchorage, AK. Visitation: her family will greet friends from noon until 2 PM, Monday, September 16, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL 62629. Funeral Ceremony at 2 PM, Staab Polk Memorial Home, Chatham, with Paula Staab Polk, funeral celebrant. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
