
Dorothy Pauline Straub was born on March 17, 1927 in Springfield, the daughter of the late Donald Jethroes and Bessie Mae (Redder) Blackburn. She married Charles Frederick Straub in Springfield in December of 1950 and he preceded her in death in May of 1985.
Mrs. Straub was a homemaker. She had also been a member of King’s Daughters and was a woman of faith.
She is survived by 3 children, Charlie Straub of Otter Lake, IL, Craig (wife Cindy) Straub of Springfield, and Thekla “Tee” Tatum of Peoria, IL; a grandson Wade Tatum of Chicago, IL; a brother Spencer Blackburn of Paradise Valley, AZ; and 3 sisters, Maureen Guitterez of Peoria, IL, Bernice Fleck of Quincy, IL, and Esther Gaa of Peoria, IL.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Stanley and Ken Blackburn, and a sister Dessel Wald.
Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 11 am at Oak Ridge Cemetery Mausoleum, with Rev. Greg Tournoux officiating. Entombment will follow.
