Dorothy “Dottie” Workman, 89, of Springfield, died at 7:31 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center. Dorothy was born on November 11, 1914 in Springfield the daughter of William H., Sr. and Nellie Porter Workman. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: William H. Workman, Jr., and Russell Workman; and three sisters: Mary Walker, Elizabeth Gillette and Helen Rohrer. Dorothy had been employed at Sacred Heart Convent until 1972 at which time she began working for the Nanavati family for 15 years. She is survived by two nieces, Toni (husband, Jesse) Pratt of Springfield and Deborah (husband, Ron) Watts of Republic, MO; and several great nieces and great nephews. Family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, May 10, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence Ave., Springfield, IL 62702.
