

Michal Kolda, M. D., 43, of Springfield, died at 2:25 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center. Michal was born on December 15, 1963 in Pilsen, Czech Republic, the son of Jan Kolda and Jaraslava Koldova. He married Rebecca Schwarting on June 15, 2002 at Lake Powell, Utah. He graduated from Medical School in Czech Republic and received his Cardiology training in Mobile, Alabama. He practiced Cardiology in Utah for three years before coming to Springfield in 2003, where he became a partner at the Springfield Clinic. Dr. Kolda was a generous and quiet man who loved the mountains, the outdoors and skiing. He enjoyed building radio control airplanes and he loved his audi. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca and their children Victoria, Adela, and Andrew of Springfield; his parents: Jan Kolda and Jaraslava Koldova of Czech Republic; a sister, Eva Koranova (husband, Jan Koran) of Czech Republic; grandmother, Maria Kuncova of Czech Republic and two nephews: Jakub and Matej. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial Ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 30, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. The family welcomes friends to visit for a Memorial Gathering immediately following the Memorial Ceremonies on Friday at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home where a light luncheon will be served.
