

Edward G. “Ed” Ferguson, 57, of Springfield, formerly of Chandlerville, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. Ed was born on Aug. 19, 1957 in Pekin, Ill., the son of Edward Jr. and Dorothy (Hayes) Ferguson. Ed married Karen Starr in 1976. Ed worked for Cargill for many years, as of late, he worked as a manager at Ace Hardware in Beardstown. Outside of work Ed loved traveling. His favorite place to travel to was Disney World and also loved going on tropical cruises. Ed was also an animal lover, raising many different farm animals at his home over the years.
Surviving Ed are his wife Karen, his children: Edward M. Ferguson of Williamsville, Jonathan T. Ferguson (Miyuki) of Florida, and Vanessa Ferguson (Vlatko Slaninkovski) of Springfield; his grandchildren: Edward Ryan Ferguson, Evan M. Ferguson, Lina Jade Ferguson, and Leo J. Ferguson; his father Edward Ferguson Jr.; and sisters Marsha Sarmiento (Marc), and Debbie Juhl.
He was preceded in death by his mom Dorothy (Hayes) Ferguson.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd. Springfield, IL 62711. The family will host a memorial gathering on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ed’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
