He was born on September 1, 1939 in Detroit, MI, the son of the late Edwin A. and Mildred (Webb) Quinlan. He married Carolyn Baldwin on June 14, 1969 in Springfield and she survives.
Edwin was a member of Oak Brook Christian Center in Oak Brook, IL. He served in the U.S. Army. He was previously in the banking industry in the Chicago, IL area for many years. More recently, he was a self-employed flight instructor and author of books on flight instruction. Flying was his thing!
Besides his wife, Carolyn, he is survived by 2 sisters, Ilene Novak of Sarasota, FL and Patricia (husband William) Quinlan-Bedford of Grayling, MI; several nieces and nephews; and 1 special son Tim Mander and special granddaughter Macy Mander.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 sister Kathy Liberatore.
Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, where a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11 am. Friends may visit from 10 am until time of the Celebration of Llfe.
