

Elaine was born in Fort Ripley, Minnesota, the daughter of Dona and Annette Jarvis. She graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing. In 1956, she married Jack Allgaier in St. Louis, Missouri. Over the years, Jack, Elaine and their family moved many times with John Deere. They made fond memories and great friends with each move. Elaine was a longstanding member of the Catholic Service Board, and an active member of St. John Vianney serving on St. Anthony’s Circle and the Art and Environment Committee. Elaine enjoyed playing golf and tennis, but her main love was her family.
Elaine is survived by her sons, Mark (Sue) Allgaier, of Glen Ellyn, IL; and John (Kelly) Allgaier, of Long Lake, MN.; a daughter, Jeanne (John) Less, of Forsyth, IL; nine grandchildren, Monica and Elizabeth Allgaier; Katie (Adam) Hoffmann, Brad (Amanda) Allgaier and Jack (Margeaux) Allgaier; and Emily (Danny) Walker, David (Anna) Less, Marie Less, and Michael Less; and ten great grandchildren, Ellie, Maddy, Kennedy, Madison, Daniel, Charlie, Elijah, Alice, Mia, and Oliver. She was preceded in death by her husband, her sister, and her parents.
At her request, Elaine’s body has been gifted to the Saint Louis University Medical School.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4097 18th St., Bettendorf. Elaine will always be remembered as a loving mother and a compassionate friend. She lived a full and faith-filled life.
