Elizabeth A. "Betty" Castle, 93, of Virden, passed away at 3:45 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Sunrise Skilled Nursing & Rehab. Betty was born February 28, 1922 in Divernon. She married Robert V. Castle on June 23, 1973; he preceded her in death in 2005. Betty was a 1940 graduate of Divernon High School. She was employed by Franklin Life and then founded Castle Real Estate. Betty enjoyed golf, ceramics, knitting, sewing, and playing the piano. She was a former member of Springfield Ceramics Club and Illini Country Club. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Elgin D. Olinger; and her parents, Herman and Flossie (Sanders) Gruber. She is survived by her son, Creighton (wife, Bridget) Castle of Boca Raton, FL; and one grandson, John Robert Castle of Boca Raton, FL. Private family ceremonies were held.
