

Elizabeth (Kruzick) Tobin, 104, of Springfield, died at 11:40 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Concordia Village. Elizabeth was born November 22, 1913 in Canton, the daughter of Andrew and Veronica Babich Kruzick. She married Thomas J. Tobin; he preceded her in death in December 1986. Elizabeth graduated from Taylorville High School, class of 1930. She worked for Horace Mann for 35 years and the Illinois State Library for 20 years. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church since 1953, the Catholic Organization for Women, and the Blue Army. Elizabeth enjoyed dancing and nature. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Mike Tobin; grandson, Michael Tobin Troesch; six brothers, Joe, John, Vincent, Bernard, George and Philip Kruzick; and one sister, Ann Kruzick. Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Maureen (Bob) Leming and Colleen (Mike) Troesch, both of Springfield; grandchildren, Natalie (Tim) VonDeBur, Sarah (Jarred) McCormick, and Chris (Margaret) Leming, all of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Jarred McCormick, Jr., Frances VonDeBur, Christopher Jr., Annaliese, and Mallory Leming; and sister, Mary Celine Sestak of Springfield. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut, Springfield. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Rev. Jeff Grant, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
