Elizabeth S. "Bethi" Prather

Elizabeth Sue “Bethi” Prather, 53, of Springfield, formerly of New Berlin, died at 4:40 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2005 at St. John’s Hospital. Elizabeth was born on June 14, 1952 in Springfield, the daughter of Leonard and Allene McClelland Johnson. She was a 1970 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Berlin. She was employed as a bartender for Shepps Bar and Grill and Time Out Tap both in New Berlin. She served as a volunteer along with her family at extra curricular activities to benefit Sacred Heart and Griffin High Schools. She loved to read, work crossword puzzles and music. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by one daughter: Angela Huffman of New Berlin; one grandson: Brandon Huffman; eight brothers and sisters: James (wife, Trudy,) Johnson of Springfield, Sarah Jane Prewitt of Springfield, Robert (wife, Connie) Johnson of Springfield, Patricia Duknoski of Springfield, Thomas (wife, Marilyn) Johnson of Chatham, Rosi Johnson of New Berlin, Edward (wife, Ann) Johnson of Springfield, David (wife, Debbie) Johnson of Taylorville; twenty-one nephews; eight nieces; several great nieces and nephews and companion: Bob Redick of Springfield. Cremation accorded by Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. The family will receive friends for a memorial gathering from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon on Friday, September 2, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, September 2, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Angel Sierra officiating. Following the memorial service a gathering will be held at Brookhills Golf Club, 5350 Old Jacksonville Rd., Springfield. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 404 E.
