She was born in Springfield on April 29, 1949, the daughter of Michael and Betty (Golab) Zrillic. Betty married Edward Ritter on September 6, 1969, at St. Aloysius Church.
Betty graduated from Lanphier High School with the class of 1967. She was the co-owner of Creative Autobody for 40 years before her retirement. Betty loved her beloved pets, arts and crafts, and everything racing- motorcycles, 4-wheelers, and ATVs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Edward.
Betty is survived by her companion, Mark Veith; daughter, Christina (Jeff) Bax of Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Nick (Carolina) Bax of Sandoval and Baylee (Joseph) Brantley of New York; great-grandchild, Sage; several nephews and cousins; and cherished pets, Bella, Leo, and Lucy.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, until the time of the Ceremony at 12:00 p.m. with Celebrant Judy Woerner.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
