

Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Zink, 94, of Springfield, died at 2:15 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2006 at Oak Terrace Healthcare Center. Elizabeth was born September 7, 1912 in Springfield, the daughter of Frank and Sarah Goodwin Jones. She married Joseph C. Zink; he preceded her in death in 1983. Elizabeth was employed as a lab technician for Memorial Medical Center until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Her faith and her family were very important to Elizabeth. She also was a member of the Sangamon County Senior Citizens Center where she was involved with the RSVP Program. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Nancy McCurley; two brothers: Leonard and Frank, Jr. Jones; and a sister: Hazel Noble. She is survived by three sons: Stephen J. (wife, Helen) Zink of Springfield, Thomas P. (wife, Melissa) Zink of Madison, WI and Paul E. (wife, Sheila) Zink of Nicholasville, KY; one daughter: Carolyn M. Schuler of Springfield; fourteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence Ave., Springfield. Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Rev. Michael Haag celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
