Ernest Harold "Zeke" Ellis, Jr., 47, of Springfield, died at 12:14 a.m. on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at St. John's Hospital. Ernest was born July 17, 1962 in Springfield, the son of Ernest Harold and Patricia Elaine Lovely Ellis, Sr. Ernest was a handyman who did home repair work. He enjoyed building model cars and riding his bike. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Anthony Ellis. He is survived by his mother Patricia Lovely of Springfield; father and step-mother, Ernest Harold and Ruth Ellis, Sr. of Divernon; sisters, Rena (Paul) Eskew of Mechanicsburg and Evon Sullivan of Springfield; several step-sisters and brothers; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Jay McCann of Springfield. Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A funeral ceremony will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Scott Brindley officiating. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies.
