

Gene was born on January 16, 1941 in Coaldale, PA, the son of William and Mary (Orlovsky) Nalesnik. He married Pamela K. (Odell) Goral on October 11, 2008 in Nesquehonig, PA.
Gene graduated from Marian Catholic High School in Tamaqua, PA. He retired after 32 years with AllSteel Mfg. Co., Hazleton. He then attended Lehigh Valley Community College. Gene was a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council 16126 and Assembly 201. He was a member of the Land of Lincoln Chorus, Barbershop Harmony Society and American Legion #32. He was also a member of Church of the Little Flower and had served as a eucharistic minister and lector there.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolores (Bilsak) Nalesnik; his parents; brother, Robert Nalesnik; and niece, Nadine Yankowy.
Gene is survived by his wife, Pamela of Springfield; stepsons, Bill (Pam) Lazar of Springfield, James (Marcy) Lazar of WI, and Ronald (Laura) Goral, Jr. of WI; stepdaughters, Donna Lazar of IL and Angela (Ken) Fiore of WI; numerous grandchildren; brothers, William (Joanne) and George (Ann) Nalesnik, both of PA; sister-in-law, Yvonne Nalesnik of LA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Stevenson Dr., Springfield, IL, with Rev. Allen M. Kemme, celebrant. Due to COVID restrictions there will be limited capacity and face coverings will be required. Private interment will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County and the Department of Defense.
