

He was born May 1, 1997 in Springfield, the son of Jeffery and Myra Long Hoffman.
Evan had been an honor roll student at St. Agnes School in Springfield. He loved reading, playing video games, riding his bike, building Lego kits, listening to and creating music. He held an orange belt in Karate, a sport he really enjoyed. Evan was smart, funny, joyful, and loving. He will always be remembered for his indomitable spirit, incredible strength and terrific wit.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: John R. Hoffman; maternal grandparents: Henry, Jr. and Martha T. Long; brother: Joshua V. Hoffman; and aunt: Colleen Martin.
He is survived by his parents: Jeff and Myra Hoffman of Athens, brother: Nathan (wife, Sara) of Springfield; paternal grandmother: Jane Pfaffman of Lady Lake, FL; maternal grandmother: Billie R. Long of Springfield; uncle: Robert Long of Springfield; aunt: Cindy (husband, George) Seda of Longwood, FL, four nieces, two nephews and many cousins.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 14, 2010 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos, Springfield.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Reverend Robert Jallas celebrant.
Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
