

Flaviette M. Fulgenzi, 89, of Springfield, died Thursday, September 24, 2015. Flaviette was born November 22, 1925 in Springfield, the daughter of Joseph and Lucia Santini. She married Ferdinand A. Fulgenzi in 1948; they later divorced. Flaviette graduated from St. Aloysius Grade School and Lanphier High School. She was employed with Sangamo Electric and later at various department stores, including Bressmer's and Myers Brothers. She later retired from the State of Illinois Comptroller's Office after 25 years of service. She attended St. Agnes Church for many years and was a member of St. Louise de Marillac. Flaviette was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, loved singing, and cooking Italian food, she was known for her raviolis, homemade meatballs, and noodles. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mickelaine Kusturin, Irene Baietto, and Antoinette Vespa; and brothers, Americo, Nicholas, Richard, Riccardo, and Leo Santini. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret (husband, A. Edward) Sauer and Karen (husband, Phillip) Brooks, both of Springfield; grandchildren, Annie Wood and Jeff (wife, Barbie) Sauer, both of Springfield, Drew Sauer of Boulder, CO, and Brad Sauer of Edwardsville; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Art (wife, Pauline) Santini and Carmen Santini, both of Springfield, and Mary Ann Frasco of Loami; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Private family graveside ceremonies will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
