Frances Lester Clark

Frances Lester Clark, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Oak Terrace Healthcare Center in Springfield, Illinois. She was born July 29, 1916 in Alliance, Ohio the daughter of Howard & Mary Bergert. She married John L. Lester on June 25, 1941; he preceded her in death in July 1977. She married Robert E. Clark in October of 1984; he passed away in August 2005. Frances had two bothers and three sisters. Her two brothers, Carson Bergert and Lowell Bergert, as well as two of her sisters, Mary Louise Dixon and Lois Bergert also preceded her in death. Frances graduated from Mount Union College in Alliance Ohio and was a teacher until she started her family. She was a member of Delta, Delta, Delta Sorority, the First Presbyterian Church of Centralia, Illinois, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a devoted wife and mother, grandmother and an avid bridge player. Frances is survived by her daughter, Joan (husband, Ronald) Kanoski of Springfield, IL, her son, David Lester of Centennial, CO; step-children, Barbara (husband, James) Tudas of Columbus, OH, Susan (husband, Woody) Norwood of New Orleans, and John (wife, Marjory Alexander) Clark of Houston, TX; her sister, Joan Wilson (husband, Don) Kunkler of Charlottesville, VA; five grandchildren, John Kanoski, Stephen Lester, Scott Kanoski, Laura Kanoski, and Melissa Lester; four step-grandchildren, Jeff Tudas, Paige Mulford, Ben Norwood, Colin Norwood; two great grandsons, Ryan and Nathan Kanoski; two step-great grand daughters, Sydney and Alison Mulford. Family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until the time of funeral ceremonies at 3:30 p.m. on February 27, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., with Dr. Lonnie Lee officiating. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorials are suggested to Oak Terrace Healthcare Center Activity Fund, 1750 W.
