Frances Eleanor Collins

Eleanor was born Sept. 24, 1916 in Tuscola the daughter of Samuel S. and Florence Morris DuHamel. She married John Edward Collins in February of 1933 and he preceded her in death in 1994.

She was a graduate of Springfield High School and attended the University of Illinois and taught grade school during World War II. She and her husband owned Collins Insurance and Real Estate in Gillespie for 50 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Nina Grace Collins of Springfield and Donna Mae Rolando (Steve) of Silver Lake, OH. and by her son, Harold Edward Collins of Flossmoor; three grandchildren, JoEllen Shield of Kildeer, Michael R. Collins of Long Grove and John P. Collins of Lake Forest and nine great grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel where friends may call Friday Oct. 25, 2013 from 10:00 AM until the time of services there at 11:00 AM with Dr. Robert Swickard officiating. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.(www.boardman-smith.net).
