

Frances E. Wilcox, 91, of Springfield, died at 12:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at St. John’s Hospital. Frances was born on November 15, 1915 in Springfield, the daughter of Frank and Goldie Merrick Honigman. She married Wilson W. Wilcox; he preceded her in death. Frances, known as Sanny to her family, was a sweet lady who greeted everyone with a smile. She retired from Sangamo Electric in 1978. She enjoyed sewing, yard work, loved her cats and was famous for her jello salad. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother: Francis “Ralph” Honigman and sister: Patsy Honigman. She is survived by her sister: Goldie Coleman of Springfield; sister-in-law: Helen Honigman of Waggoner, IL; several nieces and nephews: Don (wife, Becky) Honigman of Rochester, Ralph and Jerry Honigman of Waggoner, IL, Helen Ushman of Springfield, Patti Honigman of Dickson, TN, Charles (wife, Shirley) Coleman of Springfield and Kathy (husband, Bob) Heitz of Loami and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral ceremonies will follow visitation at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola officiating. Burial will follow at Wood Wreath Cemetery west of Berlin in Island Grove Township.
