Francine "Franni" Newton

Francine “Franni” Newton, 69, of Springfield, passed away on April 1, 2021 at her residence. She was born on May 24, 1951 in Springfield to Carl Wilton Sivels and Helen Marie Day-Sivels. Franni married Ronald Richard Newton Sr., and they later divorced.

Mrs Newton is survived by two children: Ronald Richard Newton Jr. and Veronica Marie Newton both of Springfield, seven grandchildren: Andria Beaufort, Tyler, Nathan, Devon and Joshua Newton, Niccos Holliday and Sasha Gordon, and two brothers: Carl Willie Sivels Jr., and Stanley Lee Sivels. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Patricia Sivels and two brothers: Darnell and Wayne Sivels.

Franni worked for Hope School, SPARC and the State of Illinois. She was a member of New Life Family Worship Center and served as a Mother of the church. Francine was an animal lover who enjoyed traveling and was loved by her nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and a host of friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Friday April 16, 2021 at New Life Family Worship Center, 1530 South Pope Ave. The family will greet friends from 10:00am until the time of funeral service at church and CDC guidelines will be followed. Following services cremation rites will be accorded. Oh, how I am going to miss this beautiful, awesome lady. She really knew how to light up a room with her laughter and sense of humor. Aunt Francine, you are going to be missed so dearly. The thought of not hearing you laugh and seeing your big beautiful smile is almost more than I can bare but I know the lord has you covered. You have been a wonderful Aunt and friend to me and I thank and love you so much for all your love and wisdom. I'll also miss telling you secrets.
