Frank was born on March 1, 1929, in Richland Center, WI, the son of Buford and Ruby (Mead) Kilby. He married Patricia Thomas in Wooster, OH on April 17, 1950; she preceded him in death.
Frank served in the United States Marine Corps from 1947-1963, serving in the Korean War and attaining the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. Frank eventually retired from the State of IL.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sons, Tom, Frank, Jr. (wife, Carol), and Bruce (wife, Chris) Kilby; daughter, Kathy (husband, Tom) Edwards; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to private family ceremonies at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Rd., Springfield, IL 62702.
The family is being served by Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield.
