

Frank Ralph Anuci, 73, of Springfield, passed away on his birthday, Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born September 22, 1942 in Rock Island, IL to the late Frank Ralph Anuci and Elizabeth Nell Anuci Armstrong. He was preceded in death by his brother, James and sister, Brenda. Frank spent his childhood in Springfield. After graduating from Lanphier High School, he served in the US Army from 1961-1964 as a proud member of the 173rd Airborne. Frank�s professional career spanned 35 years as a Union Ironworker for Local 290 in Dayton, OH. He retired as Union President in 1998 and in 2014, received his 50 year pin. Frank was an avid golfer and enjoyed sharing many 19th hole stories, laughs and Miller Lite. He was very proud of several holes-in-one. Frank married Lanita Kay Wright Ward on October 11, 2002. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Lanita; sons, Michael (Kathleen) Anuci of Cincinnati, OH and Matthew (Jennifer) Anuci of Boca Raton, FL; grandchildren Megan Anuci, Nathan Anuci, and Owen Anuci; great grandchild Jack Anuci; siblings, John (Mary) Anuci, Rose (William) Jackson, Rebecca (Dave) Schweizer, Robert Armstrong, Ralph (Janet) Beck, Robert Beck and Nancy (Dave) Surr. Cremation rites were accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham, before services. At Frank�s request, his family will host a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 26, from 2-5pm at American Legion Post 32, 1120 Sangamon Ave, Springfield; please join them with your stories. Burial of his urn, with honors, will be at 10am, Monday, September 28 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
