

He was born June 9, 1920 in Springfield, the son of Frank and Victoria Launikonis Arnish. He married Gertrude Bregowy on September 6, 1958; she preceded him in death on December 26, 1993.
Frank was a graduate of Lanphier High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. Frank was an employee of the Gulf Mobile and Ohio Railroad, which later became the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad for many years and retired in June of 1981.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Arnish; and sister, Mary Mankus.
Surviving are sons, Steve (wife, Sue) of Springfield and John (wife, Charmagne) of Glen Ellyn; four grandchildren, Sarah and Victoria of Springfield and Mackenzie and Frankie "Little Fritz" of Glen Ellyn; brother-in-laws, Walt Bregowy and Hank Klinc; sister-in-laws, Jo Bregowy, Pat Klinc, and Judy Bregowy; and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2119 N. 20th St., Springfield, with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola, celebrant.
Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Residence, 1400 Brookdale Rd., Naperville, IL 60563-2126 operated by the Carmelite Sisters, who provided Frank with love and outstanding care.
