Frank E. Marconi

Frank E. Marconi, 78, of Springfield, died at 2:05 p.m. on February 17, 2018 at Memorial Hospice in Springfield. Frank was born April 25, 1939 in Springfield, the son of Fred and Ann V. Goleash Marconi. He married Patricia Ann Thein; she preceded him in death. Frank worked for Jones & Blythe Construction Company for most of his career. He was a member of Union Laborers Local #477. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching his grandchildren play baseball, soccer and basketball. He attended many high school sporting events, volunteered for the Springfield Y soccer program and enjoyed watching the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Frank E. Marconi; daughter, Brenda Lee Marconi; brothers, Fritz, John, and Robert Marconi; and sisters, Anna Marie Lercher, Ginger Bart, and Sharon Marconi Kincaid. He is survived by his sons, Paul (Alyssa) Marconi of Chatham and Greg Marconi of Pawnee; daughters, Roberta (Donald) Miller and Carla (fianc, Mike Janssen) Hay, both of Middletown, IL; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Bonnie Roze (Samuel) Falzone of Springfield; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield.
