
Gary W. Ginest, 67, of Springfield, died at 1:44 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2003 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born September 1, 1935 in Cimarron, KS, the son of William Howard and Nora Elizabeth Beck Ginest. Gary was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed as Head Professional at Illini Country Club from 1970 - 1981. He previously was an Assistant Golf Pro at Westborough Country Club and at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Bill and Don; and one sister: Lois Holland. He is survived by two sons: Todd and Brad, both of Springfield; one grandson: Tanner Ginest of Springfield; one sister: Shirley (husband, Ed) Rohrbaugh of Genoa, CO; one brother A.N. “Butch” (wife, Joannie) Ginest of Wichita, KS; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2003. Graveside services with the Interveterans Detail of Sangamon County will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
