Gary E. Kruse, 46, of Springfield died at 12:47 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at his residence. Gary was born May 13, 1957 in Litchfield the son of George A. and Rosemary E. Murphy Kruse. He married Mary Foley, April 15, 1997 in Springfield Mr. Kruse was previously owner and operator of G& M Enterprises. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving at Fort Leonardwood and Germany He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather: Sam Simmons. He is survived by his wife: Mary of Springfield; one son: Johnny Turley of Springfield two step sons: Ryan Turley of Springfield, Jeremy Turley of Virden; two daughters: Kimberly (husband, Hinney) Hiemenz of Bloomington, Tiffany Sutheard of Springfield; one step daughter: Christy Turley of Springfield; two step grandson; one step granddaughters; mother: Rosemary Simmons of Springfield; two brothers: George D. (wife, Carol) Kruse of Girard, Sam Simmons of Springfield and step mother: Eileen Kruse of Virden. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 12-1:00 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2003. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2003 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Reverend Donald Meehling officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct military honors.
