

Gary Kent Seiz, 70, formerly of Springfield, died at 8:45 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2006 at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Hillsboro. He was born on December 11, 1935 in Springfield, the son of Cornelius and Maxine Thomas Seiz. He married Dorothy Voges in 1962 and they later divorced. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was employed with the Secretary of State from 1963 to 1968 and then he was employed with the Illinois Department of Transportation from 1968 to 1975. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Connie Seiz. He is survived by one son: Eric Seiz of Springfield; one daughter: Anna (husband, Marco) Moreno of Fenton, MO; three grandchildren: Marcus, Matthew and Mitchell Moreno; one sister: Sheila Knox of Springfield and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation accorded by the Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 13, 2006 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, wher the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will perform military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to: Mental Health Association in Illinois, 150 N. Wacker Dr., Ste. 900, Chicago, IL 60606. The family of Gary Kent Seiz is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
