Gary A. Wright

Gary A.Wright, 65, of Springfield, died on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 while vacationing in Bonita Springs, FL. Gary was born on July 12, 1943 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Gilbert Fletcher and Helen Laverne Roach Wright. He married Janet White on October 13, 1967. Gary graduated from Litchfield High School. He went on to become the Assistant Director of Operations and Maintenance for Springfield School District #186, prior to which he was employed with Collins & Rice Engineering as a survey crew chief and draftsman. Gary loved spending time on the beach and also enjoyed woodworking, stained glass, and playing golf in his free time, but he will be remembered most for his fun-loving, family-oriented way of living life. Gary was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Janet; his children, Brian Wright and Michelle (husband, Bill) Havey, both of Springfield; his siblings, Phyllis (husband, Gunther) Holst of Columbia, SC and Gilbert (wife, Donna) Wright of Savoy; as well as several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Following visitation, cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
