George Daniel Dohm, 94, of Girard, passed away peacefully, October 6, 2011, at 8:07pm at St. John�s Hospice, Springfield. He was born November 22, 1916 in Seattle, WA, to Frederick William and Mary Elizabeth Hartnett Dohm. His parents and his brother Frederick �Bill� William Dohm preceded him in death. George is survived by his sisters Mary Elizabeth Dohm of Girard and Katherine Marjorie Dohm of Ann Arbor, MI. George graduated from Girard High School in 1936. He served our country during World War II in the United States Air Force and was Honorably Discharged. He was a grain and livestock farmer with his brother Bill until their retirement in 2002. He belonged to the Farm Bureau for many years. He lived on the family farm on Pleasant Hill Road from 1924-2011. Cremation rites will be accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham. Private family services will be held with burial at Girard City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Girard Fire and Rescue, 115 N 1st St, Girard, IL 62640.
