George H. Houck

George H. Houck, 94, of Barrington, Illinois formerly of Athens, Illinois passed away on August 2, 2022 at The Garlands of Barrington. He was born on March 10, 1928 in Paris, Illinois to John Houck and Alta Moore. George married Dorothy Carolyn Hubbard on October 8 and they celebrated over forty years of marriage. Dorothy preceded him in death on December 13, 2021. Mr. Houck is survived by his son David (Christa) Houck of Lake Zurich, Illinois and two grandchildren: Dillon and Holland Houck. George was a US Army Veteran. He worked as a Truck Body foreman and taught Road Worker safety for the IL Department of Transportation. He loved building everything including his family home. George traveled extensively via motorcycle and owned 17 throughout his life. He was a career father and became a stay at home Dad at age 65. George was outstanding at striking up a conversation and making fast friends. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday August 8, 2022 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street. A graveside service will be held at 2:45pm on Monday at Hickory Grove Cemetery South of Wrights, Illinois.
