
George was born June 28, 1954 in Springfield the son of George Harold, Jr. and Claire King Reavy. He married Melody S. Norman, October 21, 1988.
Mr. Reavy was a graduate of Griffin High School and Loras College in Iowa. He was a self employed Independent Insurance Agent. He was owner/operator of George H. Reavy Insurance Services Inc, since 1996, he brokered thru R.W. Troxell Insurance Agency. He was awarded Ambassador of the Year for Springfield Chamber of Commerce and he was on the Springfield Chamber Board of Directors. He was a designee of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and a notary public. He was a member of the National Titanic Society and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chatham.
He was preceded in death by his father George Harold Reavy, Jr. March 15, 1990.
He is survived by his wife: Melody S. Reavy of Chatham; one son: George H. Reavy, IV at home; one daughter: Kelly M. Reavy at home; mother: Claire A. Reavy of Springfield; three brothers: Jim (wife, Michele) Reavy of Springfield, Todd Reavy of Springfield, Dan (wife, Peggy) Reavy of Chesterfield, MO; two sisters: Michele Patridge of Chatham, Brenda (husband, Michael) Deering of Titusville, NJ and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 4-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2004. Prayer Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2004 at Christ the King Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz and Pastor Glen Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Cemetery in Chatham.
