George "Dave" David Rexroat

Dave was born November 12, 1951, in Peoria, IL, the son of George E. and Betty L. Hunley Rexroat. He married Marilyn Jean Sablotny on November 30, 2007.

Dave (aka ROCKET) graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1970. He was employed with Truck Centers for 30 years before going part time. George was a member of Real Life Church where he was re-baptized in February 2023. He loved working in his garden and yard. Dave also loved old vintage cars and owned a Boss 302.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Ryan.

Dave is survived by his wife, Marilyn Rexroat of Springfield; sons, Britton (Gretchen) Rexroat of Milan, IL and Richard Rexroat of Dawson, IL; grandchildren, Leah, Levi, and Isaiah; siblings, Clarity Backbone of Iowa City, IA, and Keith Rexroat of East Peoria, IL, nieces and nephews, Corey, Brittany, Justin, and Karah.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 South Grand Avenue West, Springfield, IL. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Britton Rexroat and Pastor Clint Cook officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
