Georgeene Bordignon

Georgeene "Jo" Bordignon, 86, of Springfield, died at 10:55 a.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at St. John's Hospice. Georgeene was born August 11, 1928 in Springfield, the daughter of George and Bertha Mesnard Sweisberger. She married John Jules Bordignon on August 11, 1948 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on May 8, 2013. Georgeene graduated from Springfield High School in 1946 and was employed with Franklin Life and later with Otto Boiler, where she met her husband, John. She later retired from Capitol Illini Veterinary Hospital after 18 years of employment. Georgeene enjoyed needlepoint, crossword puzzles, and a good nap. Her favorite pastime was reading. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Gladys Passent. She is survived by her children, Paul Christopher (wife, Beth) Bordignon of Chatham, Rita Bordignon and Connie (husband, Dale) Moscardelli, both of Springfield; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; niece, Linda Cook; and other nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Private Family Graveside Ceremony: will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park.
