

Gordon Dale Waltz, 84, of Springfield and Okeechobee, FL, died at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at his home. Gordon was born May 16, 1929 in Nineveh, IN, the son of Alva Ernest and Elizabeth Irene Wells Waltz. Gordon was a professional truck driver for over 50 years. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Glenn Waltz; one sister, Janet K. Harris; and one grandson, Timothy Jon Wessing II. He is survived by his partner, Betty; five stepsons, Kenneth Wessing of Springfield, Timothy (wife, Connie) Wessing of Loami, James (wife Brenda) Wessing of Springfield, Stephen (wife, Dana) Wessing of Hawaii, and Paul (wife, Kelly) Wessing of Farmersville; two stepdaughters, Linda (husband, William) Neal of Riverton and Betty Sue (husband, Alan) Roberts of Springfield; twenty-three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Waltz of Indiana; three sisters, Ann Sims of Indiana, Rosemary (husband, Bob) Leonard of Missouri, and Loretta (husband, Dennis) Hoard of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral ceremony at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
