Gregory Thomas Marty

Gregory Thomas Marty, 45, of Lakewood, formerly of Springfield, died at 8:50 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2003 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. Greg was born July 24, 1957 in Springfield the son of Dr. John Peter and Elaine Miller Marty. He married Michelle Kelly October 1, 1977 in Springfield. Mr. Marty was a graduate of Griffin High School and attended Lincoln Land Community College. He was a senior level executive in sales and marketing with the Bunn-O-Matic Corporation from 1978 to 1999 and the Pinnacle Priority Group from 2000 to 2002. He was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by Michelle his wife of 27 years of Lakewood, four sons: Jonathan, Blaine, D.J. Marty all of Lakewood, Ryan Hulett of Springfield; father: Dr. John Peter (wife, Elizabeth) Marty of Madison, MS; ten brothers and sisters: Kathy (husband, John) Albers of Germantown, TN, John Peter Marty of Hampton, VA, Elaine (husband, Richard) Ross of Ballwin, MO, Charles Joseph (wife, Lelani) Marty of Oceanside, CA, Anne (husband, David) Haire of Hamilton, OH, Yvonne Marty of Lenoir, NC, Paul (wife, Linda) Marty of Springfield, Hallye “Sissy” (husband, Gregory) Kuhlman of Ft. Meyers, FL, Timothy (wife, Maye) Marty of Pasadena, CA, Madonna (husband, Bruce) Lauer of Springfield; several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Crystal Lake, IL with Reverend Steven Lange celebrant. Private burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield at 7:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2003. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2003 at Christ the King Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz celebrant. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1305 Wabash, Suite J, Springfield, IL 62704.
