Gretchen Ackerman, 92, of Springfield, died at 11:25 p.m. on March 19, 2006 at Capitol Care Center. Gretchen was born on January 29, 1914 in Springfield, the daughter of Charles Grant and Marie Agnes Webb Wineteer. She married William K. Ackerman; he preceded her in death in 1975. She was a member of Grace Community Church. She had been self-employed as a seamstress and enjoyed playing bridge. She was also preceded in death by her parents She is survived by her son Kenneth William Ackerman of Springfield. Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Shaner officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family of Gretchen Ackerman is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
