

Waneta was born on September 24, 1925, in Springfield, the daughter of Clifford and Hazel (Davenport) Morgan. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1942. On June 2, 1946, she married Thomas E. Boehner at Kumler Methodist Church in Springfield, and the two enjoyed forty-eight years of marriage together.
Waneta loyally worked as an office manager for the accounting firm Meyer and Van Meter for over forty years. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, kind heart and love for her family. Waneta will be particularly missed by her six grandchildren who have been the fortunate recipients of their grandmother’s endless admiration and support, not to mention her famous chocolate chip cookies. Her legacy will live on through her five great-granddaughters who were blessed to experience her affection and adoration.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas E. Boehner; son, Thomas M. Boehner; brother, Dr. Irving C. Morgan; and sister, B. Nadeen Weatherford.
Waneta is survived by her daughter, Susan (Dan) Kepner from Springfield, daughter-in-law, Pam Boehner of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Katie (Nick) McGinn, Kevin Kepner, Greg (Missy) Boehner, Emily (Zach) Lukes, Andrew Boehner, and Sarah (Josh) Hampton; and great-grandchildren, Mia, Abigail, Cee Cee, Madeline, and Luna.
Private burial will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will host a Celebration of Life on Waneta’s birthday, September 24th, 2022.
