

He was born June 4, 1920 near Hindsboro, IL. the son of Lawrence J. and Inez Turner Allen. He married Ida Linnea Person on Apr. 5, 1947 in Anchorage, Alaska and she preceded him in death Aug. 8, 2006. He was also preceded in death by a son Lewis G. Allen.
Mr. Allen graduated fron Tuscola High School and received a degree in Engineering from the University of Mississippi where he was a member of Phi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He served 22 years in the United States Air Force and then worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation until his retirement.
He was a Deacon and Elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, a member of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, and accredited ruralappraiser in the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, a senior member in the American Right of Way Association and a member of the American Association of Highway Engineers.
He is survived by a daughter, Julia A. Schad; grandchildren, Lucas and Laine Schad and Jason Allen and two great granddaughters, Mia and Ava.
Friends are invited to visit with the familyat Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel Sunday Apr. 29, 2007 from 3 to 5:00 PM.. Funeral Services will be held 9:30 AM Monday Apr. 30, 2007 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Mark S. Merrill officiating.
