Harriet Luvena Knepler

Harriet Luvena Knepler, 89, of New Berlin, died at 1:35 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Oak Terrace Healthcare Center in Springfield. Harriet was born December 26, 1923 in Loami, the daughter of Roy N. and Maude Conley Franklin. She married Robert W. Knepler in St. Louis; he preceded her in death in 2005. Harriet graduated from New Berlin High School. She worked for Franklin Life Insurance Company for 22 years in their policies & surrenders department. Harriet was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was an avid quilter and a great cook. She enjoyed baking and making candy and cookies for her children and grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; and one daughter, Donna K. Dodd. Harriet is survived by her four children, Jerry (wife, Deanna) Knepler, Kevin (wife, Bitsy) Knepler all of New Berlin, Mark (wife, Carol) Knepler of Mt. Vernon, and Steven (wife, Lourdes) Knepler Springfield; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Marvin (wife, Peggy) Franklin of Gulfport, MS; one sister, Margaret Franklin of Henderson, NV; and nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 304 E. Birch St., New Berlin, with Rev. Peter Harman, celebrant.
