
Helen G. Horn, 95, of New Berlin, passed away at 6:40 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Villas of Hollybrook in Chatham. Helen was born January 7, 1922 in Sangamon County, the daughter of Edward Charles and Grace Buchanan Baker. She married Gerald Horn on September 19, 1942 in Bowling Green, MO; he preceded her in death on May 18, 2002. Helen was a homemaker and enjoyed volunteering at Lewis Memorial Christian Village for many years. She was a member of Berlin Christian Church and loved to sew. She made many Barbie outfits beginning when Barbie first came out. Helen also enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Raymond, Floyd, and Paul; and five sisters, Letha, Beulah, Myrtle, Mary, and Opal. She is survived by her son, Jerry (wife, Candy) Horn of Springfield; daughter, Karen (husband, Jim) Crawford of Loami; three grandchildren, Jamie (husband, Pat) Hulett, Trent (wife, Janet) Crawford, and Jerica (husband, Scott) Cobern; seven great-grandchildren, Sara, Lauren, Ryne, Tyler, Kinsey, Rylie, and Summer; two siblings, Alice Crowe of Grass Valley, CA and Russell (wife, Mary) Baker of Springfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In accordance with Helens wishes, private graveside ceremonies were held at Woodwreath Cemetery.
